In class today, my professor told me that women today are still not treated equally. She also mentioned that society, still lives in a man's world. After hearing this, it made so much sense because in my opinion women are still treated unfairly, especially in the military. If you want a political standding, well lets take Hillary Clinton, when she dropped out of the election in 2008. Not one person supported her in Congress, so she had to drop out and give Barack Obama the chance to run against Sen. McCain. In my opinion, I think that it will be a long time for a woman to be president.
What do you think?? Do you think the nation is ready for a women president in 2012? Do you think women are treated unfairly today?

I don't think women are treated fairly. I'm a graduate student who is learning about the gender roles in the field of teaching. In my class we discussed how maybe education doesn't get the respect and funding it deserves because it is a woman dominated field. The people who write the policies for education are all men. The people who create the standardized tests like the SAT are all men. We talked about how there's even a distrust in teachers perhaps because we are mostly women.
Having a female president would create huge rifts in our society and it's difficult to predict how things would change.
