Now that it is December it has got me thinking: what will my new year's resolutions be this year?  What will I do (or try to do!) to make 2013 a success?

Here is what I want to accomplish in 2013, in no particular order:

-Get healthy: This means different things to different people.  But for me it means exercising more and learning how to cook healthier meals.

-Stop bad habits: This WILL be the year that I stop biting my nails.  No ifs ands or buts.  I will make it…

Yesterday I found out that one of my classmates that I graduated 8th grade with passed away.  He was only 21, far too young to go.  His death was a complete surprise to me and the rest of my classmates.  Sure, I had not seen him since graduation but it never occurred to me that any of my classmates would pass away so young.  

With it being so close to Thanksgiving it reminds me to not take life for granted.  Treat each day as a gift!

What are your plans?

I usually don't do much for Halloween.  It's not a holiday that I get too excited about mostly because I get scared way too easily (haha so no haunted houses or scary movies for me!) but I do enjoy dressing up and hanging out with friends.  Plus, I love candy!

Why am I proud to be a Latina? My father came to the U.S. from Mexico when he was just 12. His mother sent him here so that he could have better opportunities. He suffered but he made something of himself. I am grateful for what my father did and extremely proud to call him my dad. Being Latina for me is a reminder of all he did for me and my sisters.…
