What Makes a Good Friend?

We all want to have good friends—someone we can spend our spare time with, someone we can confide in, someone we can laugh with. But we need to also make sure we are “good friend” material ourselves. So what really makes a good friend?1.   Show that you really care.True friendship implies that you are committed to your relationship with that other person, showing that you truly care. It requires sacrifice and effort but well worth it if it means having a close relationship with someone you care…See More

College 101: With Freedom Comes Responsibility

Leaving high school and the environment and people you’re most familiar with can be both exciting and devastating. Leaving high school and moving on the college doesn’t only mean leaving your parents’ supervision, it means taking on responsibilities that you may not have ever thought about when you thought of leaving to college. More than likely, to all those getting ready to leave to college this coming fall, have thought about how you’ll have so much more freedom and be able to hang out with…See More

My Ring Day!

When I first arrived to Texas A&M University, my freshman year, the day I would receive my Aggie ring seemed so unreal. It felt so far away and now, three years later, I have finally earned it after so many years of hard work. My family came to celebrate my accomplishments with me. Even though this isn’t exactly my graduation day, I still feel so accomplished and that after all the tears, all-nighters, and foreign professors who barely know how to speak English, it has finally paid off.…See More

"I would say that it's difficult to adjust to the college workload and lifestyle at first, mostly because you take on many other responsibilities other than school. But if you stay on top of everything and avoid procrastinating, then it…"

"Haha thanks! I feel like I'm drowning in homework, and I'm only in high school, so I can't imagine what the college workload is going to be like. Is it hard, transitioning from high school to college?"

"Wow...that must have been terrifying. I had a friend who just barely survived from a car crash and they described their life flashing before their eyes too. It's great that everything turned out okay!"

My First Car Accident

I woke up early this morning to get involved in some volunteer service. I was so proud of myself for actually waking up early on my day off from school to dedicate my time to others in need. I was in a car group with some friends when we collided with another car at a highway intersection. It was my first experience being in a car accident. All I remember is seeing the car come at a 90 degree angle right next to us, and I’ve never felt more helpless. The first impact from the car was so…See More

College 101: Don’t Stress Over Your Wardrobe

Posted on April 20, 2014 at 6:00pm 1 Comment

Before every new school year in grade school, it’s always so exciting to go back-to-school shopping—wouldn’t you agree? Is it the same once you get to college? While it doesn’t hurt to buy some new college-appropriate clothes before your first semester begins, don’t stress over it too much.

Packing to leave home and to my first semester of college, I admit that I did pack quite a bit of clothes that I might have worn on a regular day of grade school. I…

It'll Be Worth It

So being that this is a holiday weekend and everyone has made their way back to their hometown to spend priceless time with their families, it is only natural to feel a little jealous if people like me have to stay in their college town either because their hometown is too far or they have finish up some work for their classes. In my case, I fit both of this criteria.

I live about 5-6 hours away from my hometown depending on traffic, and I have an essay due…
