Okay so aside from my contempt for anything holiday-related, i also have a strong allergy to the weather that comes with Christmas. I HATE SNOW!!! I hate feeling cold, i hate when the snow melts and your feet get wet when you walk out and then your feet are cold and wet. I hate it. so it's snowing in el paso right now, and i'm miserable. Oh and right now the internet's down at the office so i'm at a coffee shop using their wireless as I write this...and a truck drove up with a red ball on the…

Before anything else I have to say that the new Twilight movie was amazing. I actually believe it was better than the first one with more feeling and excitement into it. Maybe I have not read the books and missing out a lot of key points but I get impatient reading so I want to see the stuff right away. Next time Ill try reading the book and then watch the movie. Well either way I not only like Taylor Lautner but the entire wolf pack. I did some digging and the Native American wolf pack has…

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to give thanks for some people in my life that I can always count on. I give thanks for my mom. She is a single mom and works hard to provide for our family. My aunt because she is someone I trust and I can turn to if I have problems. My friends because they are always there to make me laugh and we can talk about anything. Happy Thanksgiving!

So I am in SASW (Student Association of Social Workers) at UTEP and we had an opportunity participate in a kind of charity activity for thanksgiving. It was to make a thanksgiving basket, and let me just say i took it above and beyond haaa. With stuff like this i just get creative and carried away, I seem to get joy out of making something for someone else.Of course we had a standard list of foods to include, and as I shopped I just felt to lucky that I had a family that was united and would…

Well as you may know "New Moon" the movie just came out on the 20th.
If you saw it well then, comment on how different was it from the movie to the book?
So far, I have have heard myself on the radio, friends etc. that it was sucky which i don't really don't know why. First of all, i heard on the radio that the acting was bad, then my friends told me the same thing too!
Enough of the "New Moon" movie, i have decided that since the twilight book and the twilight movie…

The day after tomorrow will mark the one day of the year where we're supposed to give thanks to the people in our lives as well as be grateful for what we have. Despite there being the word 'thanks' in the holiday's name, most people only care to have turkey and all the fixings without even so much as a thought. Many pray right before they take their first bite of food, and then settle in to their plates to fulfill their growling tummies and forget about all of it.
So today, I will not…

THURSDAY:
My first official interview too place. I interviewed district 3 representative; Emma Acosta and District 7 rep. Steve Ortega. I was so nervous at first but by the end I had calmed down and I felt good about the over all experience. The interview process went well and soon the story will be coming out. Later that night my friend ray came over and spent the night because we and a group of other friends went to the midnight showing of new…

I think physical education is an important part of school. My school has cut down on the time for PE and think we should keep it. I was watching a show with people that were morbidly obese and found out that it is a growing problem in our country. These people were seriously eating themselves to death. I think having classes like PE helps promote a healthy lifestyle and encourages people to get active. As girls we aren't always encouraged to play sports, but this is a good way to explore…

A new set of results that were just released last night by "a separate, and non-related" panel of doctors from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists say that women do not need to get pap smears until they turn 21 years old (as opposed to 18 previously) or three years after their first experience with sexual intercourse. The study also found that women only need to get their paps every other year after that, until the age of 30 when, if having three normal paps, they can skip…

Today November 19 is my MOM'S birthday!! I was want to take the time to thank God for keeping my mom with us all this time and for her to live longer and watch my brother and me grow and become prosperous individuals as she always dreamed.
One of the three top poems chosen by voters.
Este día que ya empieza
Te felicito y te lleno de paz
Este lindo y precioso día
Que cumples un año más.
Lo mas lindo es que cada año
Celebramos sin parar
Y…

Earlier this week a panel of doctors released findings on a study they worked on. In their findings they said it is unnecessary for women under 50 to get mammograms. Currently guidelines state women ages 40+ should be getting their yearly mammogram.
While the findings of the panel said contrary to current guidelines, they do not apply to women considered "at-risk" because of family history.
Some doctors are standing by the findings, while others are appalled. Since the release of the…

So the question is do you think P.E is important? I think it is, not all the time are students given the opportunity through out the day or do like to exercise. The U.S. is one of the top or even possibly the top country to find obesity. The need for P.E to exist in schools is there. The fact that there are test or even grades I don't think is important. I think P.E should be a pass or fail kind of class. If you participate, try hard, and show up to every class then you pass. No need for test…

The other night I was watching my favorite show on tv: PBS' Globetrekker.
It's awesome, I love it. I am real big on travel shows, because I would really love to see different places within and outside of the states. And I would really, really love to someday be a host on Globetrekker, or write a travel blog or something of that nature.
Either way, the other night's episode was all about Panama and Colombia. When co-host Megan McCormick was in Panama, she visited the Panama Canal and…

So yestreday I watched the George LOpez Show and it was pretty cool. I have to say though he makes a lot of dirty jokes and at times I thought it wasnt siutable for TV but overall it was a good show. Yesterday I guess was the first time it aired and he had Slash on as a musical appearence throughout the show he was playing with the band. He also had Charlie Scheen on. I was surprised when I had heard Charlie say that his real name was Carlos Esteves. I was like what, why did he change his name?…

So Sarah Palin, our dear ex-candidate for VP, has written a book. Hmmmm.... I think she has every right to, I'm sure she has had a fascinating year and a half, but does she honestly think none of us are going to catch on to her 'hidden' agenda. I think that she's delusional if she thinks the Republican National Party would be crazy to even consider her for presidential candidacy for 2012. and you know what, if they did, and by some insane, completely crazy reason she did win, I would be so…

In January I will be starting my junior year at UTEP. I am so excited and on Saturday they had new student orientation. We started off the day of the does and don't in school. Don't plagiarize, even your self, (which I found out was possible). Do sit in the first rows of the class and join organizations on campus. They said that by being involved and sitting closer to the front you get better grades and do well in school. They also informed us about the parking, and the campus police. They made…

Today for my speech class we had to do a position speech.I sat their in my seat and listen to the students one by one talk about certain issues they favor. Some did not know what to talk about because they had no idea that there was an assignment for today, others just crashed and burned. There was one student that really opened my eyes and made me realize how bad Juarez has gotten. His position speech is that the police force in Juarez are incompetent and do not do anything to lessen the…
