I'm a concert addict with an obsession with meeting my favorite celebrities. And trust me, I have no shame in saying that.
My obsession with attending concerts does take a toll on my bank account, which is why I only buy tickets if I know I can go to the concert and if the prices are reasonable. This semester alone, I bought my ACL Weekend 1 bracelet and tickets to see Atlas Genius, MGMT, twenty one pilots and Panic! at the Disco. Why did I buy all these tickets? Because I…Continue

SXSW is a festival hear in Austin that has three components: Interactive, Film and Music. Instead of going home for spring break, I decided to stay in Austin for the festival.
On Saturday, I was waiting outside a theatre for a movie. A few minutes, or an eternity later, a black SUV comes out and…Continue

Stress, stress and more stress.
That's my life at the moment. I feel that this semester has been the most stressful semester I have had at my time here at the University of Texas at Austin. With all my classes, my extracurriculars, my internship/job and the applications I am working on, I feel that I am losing control of my life.
See, I love stress. I just don't want it in huge amounts. I'm currently taking 13 hours (5 classes) that consist of my journalism…Continue
I've got a busy semester ahead of me and I LOVE It!
And to make it better, I got accepted to be part of the Youth Editorial Advisory Board! That's probably the best news I've heard today!
That's all I have to say.
Update: It's like I'm an intern all over again!

Today is my last day as a Latinitas intern. Sad, sad day.
My life as an intern was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned more about the non-profit world and how it works. I learned that making a non-profit successful is all about team work. Not one person can do it alone -- you need an army of wonderful people to make it work.
I enjoyed being surrounded by wonderful, energized people who were happy on making a difference. Everyone was so nice,…Continue
In my Mexican-American Literature class, I've been reading Brownsville by Oscar Casares.
Since I was in high school, I've heard so much about this book about my small city. Even though I'm a huge book nerd, I never really picked it up, scared of how the author might portray my hometown. That was till I realize the author was from Brownsville.
Because my professor for my Mexican-American Literature class is AMAZING, she brought in Casares to discuss…Continue
What's everyone's favorite song to listen to when you're sad or feeling blue? It doesn't matter if it's English or Spanish.
Personally, some of my favorites are:
Ever since I was a little girl, I had always wanted to vote. I felt that if I voted, I can make a difference in our great country. And what little girl doesn't want to make a change?
I'm finally old enough to vote. That means that I can finally make a difference in our country.
Last week, I call my dad to tell him that I had voted. He was very proud of me for using one of our freedoms. I then asked him if he voted. He said no. I asked why. He then replied that…Continue
What is the R-word?
The R-word is Retard.
Ann Coulter, an author and political commentator, tweeted this during Monday's presidential debate.
I'm not sure how she meant to use the word "retard" but however she meant it, she should have not have used it.
Special Olympics athlete and global messenger John…Continue
The last time I dressed up for Halloween (other than last year) was when I was in 7th grade. It's not that I thought it was lame, but because for the next five years, I would have to attend a football game or have marching band practice during Halloween.
I had always loved Halloween. The idea of dressing up in a cute or scary costume made me feel creative and mischievous. I always loved to dramatically change costume ideas. One year, I was a little devil (which my mom found to…Continue
I wasn't popular in high school. I was just overly involved in clubs and organizations that I was able to be good friends with so many people. I called them my best friends and they were willing to call me their best friend. Since freshman year, every one knew that I was going to leave home. That didn't stop them from wanting to be close to me. In fact, that's why my best friends and I became close.
At graduation, I was in tears. Tears, tears and more tears came out. I could…Continue

I was hanging out with close friends last night at a local burger stand called Hopdoddys. I was having such a great time with my friends till the subject of parties came up.
That's where things turned awkward.
My best friends like to party. I don't. Because I am not a huge party fan, I asked my friend if he would take me back to my dorm. He agreed since he respected my views. My other friends, especially one, were not as nice to me. She began to tell me how we…Continue
