Today Claudia and I took donations to La Posada Home. Our Latinitas dug deep in their pockets to buy and gather clothes and stuff for the women who live at the Home. We had a crib, huge canned food, about 5 trash bags of clothes, cereals, snacks, hygiene products and even a baby seat. We had a whole truck load! It was awesome. Today is Earth day! Yay! Whats better than celebrating the planet we live on. Today, with it being Earth Day and all I wanted to post ten ways you can make your mark. By doing simple things in our everyday lives we can alter the amount of energy, conserve one our most precious resources and create less trash. We need to think of or future. Today was my first tabling experience with Latinitas.We were at UTEP trying to get girls for our NEW Latinitas College Counsil! Whoooo! We are trying to get it all set up for the future members coming in Fall 2010. I must say our table looked fabulous! lol We had pictures of the girls, flyers and tons of info on internships and other volunteer positions. I love to watch this show because these women police make huge impacts on their community. On last nights show one of the officer ladies went to speak to a girl scout troop of girls ages 4-6 maybe and she was just empowering them that girls and do anything men do, especially jobs. So ths past Saturday Latinitas held a camp and the Girl Scouts decided to join us. It was really fun. We had like 10-13 girls participating in 2 photo contests. They got really creative and they looked like they were having a lot of fun. I hope that we get a winner from our group that would totally rock. So I am very proud to anounce that there is a local choir group, consisting of young women and they will be touring Italy this summer. I am very proud to say that one of their members is my 15 year old cousin. This group of girls are very motivated high school girls who in the future look foward to persuing a carrer in the arts and music. I am so proud that all of them have gotten to this point and have this opportunity. They are truly going to get an experience of a liftime.…

So the Vagina Monologues are on this weekend and I have tickets for tonights performance.Just so you know there will be a show today at 8pm in the Magoffin Theater and tomorrow the 20th of Feb. also at 8pm. Tickets are $10 and doors open at 7pm. The proceeds got to the Child Crisis Center of El Paso and there are other places they will be donating to also. I just cant remember all of them.
