I woke up today to my friend's text message....."14 men have been rescued in Chile! 19 more to go." It's been 69 long days since 33 miners were trapped one mile underground in Chile and are finally being rescued with the efforts of worried Chileans.
Right now as I write, they are rescuing the rest of the miners and more than half of them are above ground. So far, 21 men have been rescued. The rescue mission has been successful so far and soon all the men will be out!
It's wonderful to know that these miners who have friends and family who have not seen them for over 2 months are finally being reunited.
IMAGINE not seeing the sun, the trees, the sky, the stars for that long.
IMAGINE not seeing your mother, father, son, daughter, friends because you're stuck underground.
I've been watching the news and reading articles about the rescues and I'm not going to lie, I did shed a tear or two just reading about these men who have had a very emotional rescue. If you have a chance and haven't done so already, you should check out some of the coverage. It's one of the brighter news of the day and I hope that it brightens your day as well.
