Like many people, I've been following the Casey Anthony case as it's been going on. I didn't know about it until a couple of weeks ago, but I quickley found out that it was a case that had been going on for three years already with so many twists and turns in its story. After tons of research and following the media, I was easily convinced that Casey Anthony had been guilty of killing her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony and I was astonished when I found out that she had been found not guilty by the panel of jurors! How? Why? Well, my friend's dad, who is actually the D.A of El Paso, said that the decision all had come because of the lack of evidence. I had also watched a special Nightline report and many other lawyers agreed that this case "slipped through the cracks" because it lacked a lot of evidence. Evidence?! How!? There are pictures of a mother who was obviously not bothered about her missing child and partying, there are mysterious stains in the back of her mother's car, there is Choloroform, shovels, blankets and duct tape found with the mother! How can there be not enough evidence! With that said, these 12 jurors were left in almost complete isolation- well not completely, but they weren't able to watch anything about the case but what was going on the courtroom. I'm starting to believe that many people were upset with this case because it was so highlighted in the media. Caylee Anthony's pictures and story was told and re told so many times that it made everyone connect with the little girl in a way that everyone wanted to hurt whoever was most suspected for her murder. Was Casey Anthony depicted differently in the media? Could media influences be guiding our decision as to who killed little Caylee? Because it seams that this courtroom might have heard a different story from the one everyone else heard and depicted. I still believe that Casey Anthony is guilty and I hope that she realizes what she has done. Rest in peace Caylee Anthony.
Did you follow the case too? What were your thoughts on it?
