Latinitas - A Strong Voice for Latina Youth

I am a great believer in the power of true beauty. Ignore the media’s definition of “beauty” as being reserved for tall supermodels or having sleek hair, and think about the examples of beauty that truly move and inspire you. Whether you find it in art, culture, food, or your environment- beauty is everywhere for those who want to see it or create it.

Everyone has their own definition of beauty, but mine is anything that moves me or inspires me to be my best and create my best work. I wanted to share a few photographs with my fellow Latinitas that illustrate the beauty that can be found in the everyday. I often find beauty when I am walking, but where do you find your beauty?

Graffiti art I found while walking with a friend in Austin...

The “city” version of a scarecrow made to protect a veggie garden...

Mi Tierra, a wonderful bakery at El Mercado in San Antonio...

Paper banners at El Mercado (the market) on a cloudy day (love the shapes!)

Walking along the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, Tx...

These are just a few examples of beauty I've found in my day-to-day life. Where do you find beauty in your life? How does beauty make you feel? Happy, excited, creative? Please feel free to share! Happy Hunting! :)
