There is a new movie showing in theatres: an English-language film entitled 'Little Boy' that tells the story of an 8 year old boy willing to do anything to bring his father home from World War II. You can watch the official trailer here.
Eduardo Verástegui, a Mexican actor and model, produced and directed the film. Born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, Eduardo was a famous Meixcan telenovela actor before moving onto Hollywood where he appeared in films with other Latinos like Sofia Vergara. His new focus, rather than acting, is bringing Latino influence to Hollywood through his own production company. He has said in interviews he will only be involved in projects that honor Latino values and portray Latinos in a positive light.
While 'Little Boy', unlike his other films, features a largely Caucasian cast instead of Hispanic, Eduardo himself appears in the film in the role of a Catholic priest. I have yet to see the film but plan on seeing it this week and am pretty excited to see what Verástegui came up with this time. [I loved the other film he produced, 'Bella', which featured a Latino cast and much Spanish language.]
So go check out 'Little Boy' with your friends or family and support Latinos in the film industry!!!
