Latinitas - A Strong Voice for Latina Youth

Like many other Latinas, I have thick, long lashes but mine are also SUPER straight. Over the years I have only used mascara from Mexico because it was the only type that would keep my lashes curled and not clumped. Well, recently I was curious about the American mascaras and I thought I could find the perfect high end mascara since everyone was raving about them. So I went to Ulta and tried out the their best mascaras.

Roller Lash from Benefit: Supposedly, this mascara is perfect to hold a curl. I tried it and lets just say it looked like I had spider legs for lashes. Before I put mascara on, I always curl my lashes and in the span of 10 seconds I could see my lashes just coming down.

They're Real from Benefit: Another Benefit mascara that has amazing reviews. It did make my lashes longer, which I don't really need, but it also weighed them down as well and even more clumpy since the formula was pretty wet.

Hypnose Drama from Lancome: Now this mascara was the most expensive one. The formula is dryer but like all the others, heavy. So once again bye bye curl.

Moral of the story? If you have thick, straight lashes like me, just stay with a mascara that is super light weight with a dry formula. I stayed with my Mexican Mascara and I have a feeling I always will and its SUPER cheap. It costs me 30 pesos in Mexico and that's like $2 in American money. Also, you can buy the mascara online. Now I know you're wondering "what mascara is it?!" Its called Mascara 4 en uno by Prosa. Below is all their products and Ive used them all and they're amazing! For everyday use, I use the pink top one and to add length, I put a coat of the black top.

Whats your favorite mascara?
