Self-Confidence might be one of the hardest things to obtain and sustain in life. We have grown in a tough society full of images of people we "should" look like, think like, and even things we should say. Think of all the times you have looked through a magazine and noticed the newest headlines, "So and so... Gained 50 pounds!" Consistently, pop culture attempts to define the "perfect" body that one should have. They achieve this by constantly scrutinizing artists and actresses. Honestly, who are they to judge others? No one! Remember that no one on Earth is perfect; all of us have flaws and imperfections both within and without. But these flaws, these imperfections define us. They make us unique and sometimes even attractive.
Think of this: imagine if every girl looked like barbie. Obviously it's a long shot, but bear with me. Everyone would be so tired of looking everywhere! Everyone would look identical and nothing would be special about anyone. We'd all be trapped in bodies that would not express how truly different and amazing each of us are.
I know that self-confidence is one of the hardest things to obtain. We are only humans, and people are consistently criticizing everyone. But remember that we are all beautiful in our own ways. At the end of the day those who say ugly things aren't important. If you love yourself and are able to accept everything that you have to offer, then honestly that's all that will ever. You are with yourself for the rest of your days. You can turn to comfort yourself, and only you will be there when everyone turns away. YOU are amazing, strong, and beautiful! Whether you accept it or not, we are all amazing! Life isn't meaningless... one way or another you will do amazing things as long as you remember that no one else in the world is just like you!
