Four words to describe it: a dream come true. Studying abroad was probably one of the most exciting experiences I've had. Since I was little I dreamed about traveling all around the world and France was one particular country I wanted to visit. When I was in college I took four courses of french and then I thought -it would be awesome if I just have the opportunity to study there- I didn't have the money to pay a semester abroad by myself, but then I realize that economical barriers were just an excuse since there are a lot of scholarships available to everyone, so I started to research about the different possibilities to afford all the expenses that study abroad involves. So I applied for a ascholarship and I got it, I asked for a loan, and I got it too!!! So the economical aspect of studying abroad was solved, and then my parents were very supportive with my decision so I did my semester abroad in France, and just like I mentioned before, was one of the best experiences of my life. I am telling you this to encourage you to apply to do some study abroad. It is a very enriching experience, you get to know different cultures, languages, people from other backgrounds, places you've never dreamed about, is just a wonderful and rewarding experience. You learn how to become more independent, how to solve problems on your own, how to manage your time, etc. You actually mentally grow, because you broaden your perspective and know so many different things besides the "little world of ours". I mentioned the economical aspect because most of the time is the first excuse I hear from people when study abroad is mentioned, but you know what? it should not be a barrier to accomplish that goal. There are a lot of resources in order to help you afford your dream, so what are you waiting for?!!! Go for it, I am telling you, you'll never regret it!!!!!
