Latinitas - A Strong Voice for Latina Youth

Everyone has bad days where it feels like your stress level has hit a new high where it makes you feel a new low. The bright side is that you'll always bounce back, stronger and more prepared.

School, work, family, friends, etc. are all essential parts of our lives that sometimes make us stress out. The best thing to remember when you feel like you're on a short fuse is to breathe. It's as simple as it sounds. Be surrounded by calming sounds or a quiet area, close your eyes, and take deep breaths. Over and over until that stormy cloud in your head slowly fades away.

If I'm stressed about things I can't control, I just think to myself: everything happens for a reason. It's the reality that we can't always be in a great mood but that doesn't mean we should forget about the good things in life. When it seems like nothing is going right, stop that dark train of thought and remind yourself of the things you have been blessed with.

For me, it's my amazing mother and siblings that I love with every inch of myself. I'm grateful for the friends that go through life's obstacles with you. We can't forget food and Enrique Iglesias.

Whatever is stressing you out at one moment won't matter tomorrow or next week because life goes on and our lives are too blessed for us to be stressed.
