As the semester comes to its midpoint...papers, tests and assignments begin to pile up. For me, it's really hard to pull all nighters. I'm the type of person who functions way better during the day but inevitably, there are times when I have no choice but to stay up way past my bed time to complete important assignments. I think language does have a huge impact on culture. There is constant pressure for Latinas to be able to speak Spanish fluently but this can be difficult for those whose parents don't teach them while they're young. I'm a 4th generation Mexican-American. When I was growing up, my parents only spoke to me in English at home.
