Did you celebrate the dia de la virgen de Guadalupe?

In Mexico, December 12th is celebrated as the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This date marks the day when Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared on Tepeyac hill to the native Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. To learn more about the holiday, visit:

My aunt is named Lupita (short for Guadalupe), so we always celebrate her saint's day. Since she was born on Christmas eve and her birthday tends to get overlooked with Christmas festivities, we like to make a party for her on December 12th. This year, we took her out to eat for dinner, and I surprised her with a beautiful painting of the Virgin de Guadalupe.
I definitely did celebrate the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe being the origin of my name. We went out to eat and we went to church where they sang to me and others with my name and of course our Lady.
