My greatest challenge as a woman has been being pregnant. I am 26 years old with a Masters in Sociology. I graduated May 2016 and got pregnant July 2016. Giving my time to this nonprofit is a way that I can be seen as doing my job correctly and become a person involved with their community. To me, it shouldn't be labeled "heroic," but rather, learning from heroes who are often silenced during troubled times. I am labeling myself as a the learner, not the hero.
