Last week the girls learned about Girl Power within the Latina community. The girls were taught that they can do anything they set their minds to. Day of the Dead started as a way to celebrate and embrace the dead.
Calavera poems are short poems recited on Day of the Dead that take a humorous approach on the holiday. It is an imaginary obituary in which someone or something still living or deceased is poked fun at. They describe qualities or funny stories we remember about the deceased and those still alive.
