t's Christmas Day, time to open presents with your family and have a big Christmas feast. In all the commotion it's all too easy to forget why we celebrate Christmas. People celebrate this wonderful holiday for many different reasons. Sometimes we celebrate Christmas for no reason other than to spread love and happiness. It's often very importent to stop and remind ourselves why we really celebrate Christmas.
Christmas to me is giving. Giving love, food, presents, joy. It…

Christmas to me is a day to celebrate Jesus and his birth. We also should portray Christmas as a day to be with our family. NOT a day to get presents. The true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus, and many people do not realize that when they think of all the material things they might get from another Christmas to come. Christmas is a time to celebrate, a time to give, and a time to remember. That is the true meaning of Christmas to me. Not a time to…

Yesterday was my last club of the semester teaching the wonderful girls at Langford Elementary. I had such a great time with them the entire semester! I know they're going to miss me too... they made me a friendship bracelet and made me a funky little toy to keep by my desk. We had fun making a short movie on iMovie and they learned how to trim clips, add music and add video effects.
These are just some of the photo's they took using iPhoto:…

As December comes to a chilly mid-point there is one thing on all of our minds... WINTER BREAK!
Don't waste it by sleeping in and watching Adventure Time (even if it is hilarious)!
Here are a list of things on my to-do list this holiday break:
1. SMORES--
I love smores! They are the simplest dessert to make if you know how to push a microwave button. Grab large
marshmallows, graham crackers and bite size Hershey's and you're good to go!…

Holiday movies to check out this month:
Arthur Christmas (PG, 1 hr. 37 min.)—Another great 3-D film is on the big screen. This animated family comedy centers Santa’s high-tech operation hidden in the North Pole and his frenzied deliveries. This film is filled with laughter and unexpected surprises, it’s a great movie to share laughs with the entire family.
Hugo (PG, 2 hr. 6 min.)—Director, Martin Scorsese makes his first 3-D film based on the Brian Selznick’s New…

I began breaking out at the age of 10. As a fifth grader in Elementary school i think i was the first kid to have break outs, By sixth grade my forehead was covered and in middle school my forehead and chin were populated. I was embarrassed and ashamed and in a lot of ways I could not stand looking at myself. I envied EVERYONE with clear skin and felt that I would never be beautiful.…

SO, I just finished taking my last final of the semester. While I am glad it's over (mostly because I want to go home and visit my mom), I can't help but feel grateful for the amazing semester I just had! Sure there was a lot of studying and working hard but I am so proud of myself for everything that I accomplished.
Sometimes when the going gets tough, I tend to shrink back into my shell but not this semester! I became a leader in both my student organizations, I mentored so…

When my brother and I were little we couldn't wait for Christmas to come around. We knew it was close and Santa would be coming soon when my mom would give us the Toys R Us book and told us to circle the top five things we wanted. To us that was the best thing EVER! Now that we are grown up we don't get to do that but we do get to pick out our presents and feign surprise when we would open them the night of Christmas Eve. Although to be honest I would still love to…

so its getting pretty cold and I cant help but think about all the helpless animals in the cold. My dogs have sweaters and go in the garage anyway when its cold. But I know that not everyone is like me and they leave their dogs outside. I also work outdoors and when its very cold I wonder how pet are doing. I hate seeing dogs, cats shiver and I wish people would understand that leaving an animal to endure the weather is a form of…

I have literally romanticized cities like Chicago and New York City. I have dreamt of living in the big cities for years. I'd love to see the architecture and be a part of the largest cities in the U.S. Today my brother and I were hanging out and running errands all around the city. We ended up walking and talking in downtown El Paso and ended up eating at a little restaurant. We also walked further to a little sweet shop. Walking…
