Like many people, I've been following the Casey Anthony case as it's been going on. I didn't know about it until a couple of weeks ago, but I quickley found out that it was a case that had been going on for three years already with so many twists and turns in its story. After tons of research and following the media, I was easily convinced that Casey Anthony had been guilty of killing her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony and I was astonished when I found out that she had been found not guilty…

Before coming to Latinitas today I had an orthadontist apointment, and while the doctor was probing his fingers inside my mouth I couldn't help but think that I've actually had my braces for about two years now. I remember when I first got them I had a horrible lisp, slurring my "S"s and "R"s and I hated having to get used to learning how to eat differently.
Of course, with time you get used to your braces and so does everyone else around you. When I first got them,…

I reciently became a yearbook editor for my school and, although I have been on the yearbook staff in the previous years, I've learned that there is SO much work that has to be put into the book of the year! I've never been an editor. In my sophomore year I was a photographer but that's all I did- take pictures and turn them in. I did work on one page but that was a group project, and because I didn't know how to use InDesign and my friend did, she did most of the work. But now, after two…

Today I didn't really have an idea what to write about so I read a couple of my fellow Latinitas' blogs for ideas. I read Dominique Gonzalez's "The Backyard Virgin" and it was really good! She talked about the sighting of the Virgin Mary in an east El Paso home and she added a link at the bottom of the page of KDBC's coverage on the story. After watching the video provided I was amazed! It really does look like the…

Summer is here (officially we marked the first day of summer yesterday), and with summer comes swimming pools, ice cream, hanging out with friends, and soaking up the sun! But summer also means baithing suits, shorts, dresses, skirts, and showing a little skin- the things we aren't very eager about during this wonderful time of year. Although my friends and I aren't overweight and we really don't need to watch our wieght (I can't stand it when a skinny girl says she's fat), we have noticed…

I reciently came back from Dallas where I experienced the NFL. No, I'm not talking about football, I'm talking about the National Forensics Leauge, also known as the national competition for speech and debate. Last week people from all over our nation and even some from outside of the United States gathered in Dallas, Tx to show off thier skills. A lot of people mistake debate to be only for people who argue about boring topics when in reality, it's a sport with over 10 events that you can…

My 17th birthday was yesterday and I have to say it was possibly the best birthday I have ever had! I spent it with my wonderful friends and family, and it made me realize how truley blessed I am. My friends surprised me really early in the morning with a cake, a huge card and gifts; and my family took me out to eat and afterwards we bought slurpies and enjoyed them at the park (a childhood tradition that we hadn't been able to do in a while because everyone is always so busy!) It was a…

Lately, I can't help but notice that a lot of female celebrities have died their hair blond. The most recent one that comes to mind is Beyonce. I saw her new hair on one of the last shows of Oprah and I have to say, as beautiful as she is, I didn't like it. The biggest reason why I wasn't very convinced was because it actually made her skin tone lighter. Another celebrity that decided to go lighter was Shakira. She's been blond for a while but just like Beyonce's new look, I'm not very…
