What I Would do if i won the Lottery

A few weeks ago the main topic in everyones conversation was THE TEXAS Lottery. Made me think of course about what I would like to do :D because its ok to dream. I would do many things and I would help many people, again its fun to dream.

Let's assume the take home cash value is 325,000,000

I would donate a huge amount to Latinitas. that way both offices could expand. Alicia and other from Austin could have…

No more glasses, no more contacts! I can see!!!

I underwent the Lasik procedure last week, on Valentines Day.

Even though I knew the risks, I was convinced I needed this procedure done. It angered me that I was defective. My vision was terrible and getting worse with the years. I was no longer able to see my alarm clock in the mornings or see the direction of peoples eyes 2…

Why I wanted to become a Reporter.

When I listen to music from a different era or watch movies that depict certain events my mind wanders. Most of those people are dead, sick or old. Elderly are constantly pushed to the side yet they have some of the most…

After Graduating from College

So its been almost 2 months since I've graduated from UTEP and I still cant believe I don't have to wake up every morning and go to school. With that said, I have been job searching and job searching since I walked. But it still feels awesome that I can sleep in and not worry about textbooks or materials for the semester. But I do miss some part of being in college.…

Death in the Family.

Deaths are always a sad topic. But they do happen. Every time a loved one is lost I'm always there "being the strong one." What I mean is that lately, the family members and loved ones who have passed away are all related to my mom (siblings or friends) And my mom always breaks down. It's the saddest thing ever but I have to keep it together. ... For her.…

My problems with Acne

I began breaking out at the age of 10. As a fifth grader in Elementary school i think i was the first kid to have break outs, By sixth grade my forehead was covered and in middle school my forehead and chin were populated. I was embarrassed and ashamed and in a lot of ways I could not stand looking at myself. I envied EVERYONE with clear skin and felt that I would never be beautiful.…

Animals in the Cold

so its getting pretty cold and I cant help but think about all the helpless animals in the cold. My dogs have sweaters and go in the garage anyway when its cold. But I know that not everyone is like me and they leave their dogs outside. I also work outdoors and when its very cold I wonder how pet are doing. I hate seeing dogs, cats shiver and I wish people would understand that leaving an animal to endure the weather is a form of…

I have literally romanticized cities like Chicago and New York City. I have dreamt of living in the big cities for years. I'd love to see the architecture and be a part of the largest cities in the U.S. Today my brother and I were hanging out and running errands all around the city. We ended up walking and talking in downtown El Paso and  ended up eating at a little restaurant. We also walked further to a little sweet shop. Walking…

Graduating tomorrow!!!!

Tomorrow I will receive my Bachelors degree!!!! I'm very anxious and nervous but I have waited for this moment for a long time. I'm grateful for all the people that are coming down to see me :) So here is a little story about me. It's short but I'm hoping it gets chosen at commencement and people get to hear a little about my history.…

When I was younger my mom always cleaned the entire house all by herself. I'd go to school and my room would be clean when I'd come home. I grew up with a stay at home mom so she always cleaned and cooked for us. This was nice I never lifted a finger and when she would ask me to  clean something I remember i would get really upset. I never really appreciated all the things she did for me until I moved…

Drop the "I"word

I just read an article about the word "illegal" in illegal immigrant. It is derogatory and it defames people when used. It encourages people to discriminate and to stereotype people. It's interesting how people feel so strongly about the term. I appreciate how hard these organizations are working to stop prejudice. Stop and think about other words we use everyday that may hurt others. I'll keep you updated on the AP Stylebook's…

Brothers and Sisters

Yesterday I was reading an article about relationships between opposite sex siblings. This article spoke out to me a lot because I have an older brother and I love him so much. It's just us and we are very close. The article spoke about society's  perception of unity with same sex siblings. Very few research has been d…

Sushi NiGHt

The interns here at Latinitas are all a great group of people. I've made many great friendships and I'm very happy to be here. So my closest friends here at Latinitas decided we would tackle making sushi. We had the event in my tiny little kitchen. Marisol, Sonia and Eric all came by my tiny apartment and we began the intense process of making Sushi.…

Tiara Tuesday

Super fun event I really needed a fun thing to do to get my mind off of stressful things. Some of my friends didn't get to go so I will tell them about it :)

Latinitas held an event at Mesa Street Grill called Tiara Tuesday. So here's the run down:

I showed up on time and did not realize there was free vip parking.…

Graduation came sooner than I thought!

Today in the mail I received my Graduation Cap and Gown :) I was so happy but at the same time sad. I worked so hard for the past four years of my college life and the end is here. All my friends are registering for the next semester and it makes me a little sad that I wont take any more classes. Unless I go to grad school. This moment is pretty scary for me. I'm…

Scary Scary time of Year

It is that time of year once again, time for the Halloween!!!

Latinitas interns have been talking about scary movies and their common themes. The one thing we can all agree on is that Paranormal Activity is the most popular "scary" movie this season. I am scared of scary movies and cannot watch them. But paranormal Activity is funny not that scary so I can watch that.…

AHHH the Beatles

My favorite band of all time by far has to be the BEATLES. It is what I listen to in my car and here in the office of Latinitas. I LOVE John Lennon before the age of 25. :) (I joke around that he is my soul mate) he made such amazing music and I am saddened that the world was robbed of his extended talents. I am also a true fan of his first wife Cynthia Powell, and have avidly been reading her biography. I love seeing pictures of them when…

I recorded a video when I went to Sumatra. I felt like I was in Jurassic park :) I want to go back one day. I decided to show it to you guys and see what you guys think. David Kim helped with the editing. I'm not into the beaches really I'm more into forests and mountains :) My ultimate European getaway would be to Switzerland and I hope I can do it in the near future. What type of scenery do you guys… Continue

Latinitas interns and foreign travel.

So here we are in the office with the Latinitas interns. And we decided to speak about the opportunities we've had with travel. Sonia has been to Vienna and I have been to Indonesia through study abroad. Travel has definitely impacted us in a positive way and has left us with amazing experiences. If I can give advice to anyone it would be to take up any opportunity that involves traveling especially if it's through school.…

Cartoon Hair Color!!!

So I am still a child at heart even though I'm 22 years old. I woke up early and watched cartoons while I ate breakfast. And I was mesmerized by cartoons and their haircolor!! It's crazy!! Imagine it was perfectly normal to be born with green/purple/or blue hair? And I dont mean dying your hair… Continue
