Summer is here (officially we marked the first day of summer yesterday), and with summer comes swimming pools, ice cream, hanging out with friends, and soaking up the sun! But summer also means baithing suits, shorts, dresses, skirts, and showing a little skin- the things we aren't very eager about during this wonderful time of year. Although my friends and I aren't overweight and we really don't need to watch our wieght (I can't stand it when a skinny girl says she's fat), we have noticed that our pants, baithing suits and cute little shorts are a little more tighter than we remembered. Coming back from hibernation (winter is the season of constant eating and sleeping), we've found out that maybe we over did our anual habits of renting movies or reading books on the couch with countless bowls of cheese puffs. So, in the spirit of summer, we decided to have a really HOT workout: zumba classes!
Wooo! At first we were hesitant because yesterday was SO hot! Annoyingly hot! To the point where you just want to stay inside your air conditioned home and stare at the fan going around and around and around... but luckily, one of my more lively friends dragged us all out of our heat comas and we found ourselves in a dance studio. And then, the music started. Unconsiously we were all moving our hips to the beat and enjoying the rythm of zumba! Suddenly, this perky tiny lady with pig tales stood in front of the class and started to show us what to do. The four of us, unsure of how to properly move our hips, went with it and had a really great time! We were clumsy, we messed up, and we sweated all over the dance floor but we didn't care; we just had fun with it! It was a great workout and will now definatly become a daily routine for us!
