Before every new school year in grade school, it’s always so exciting to go back-to-school shopping—wouldn’t you agree? Is it the same once you get to college? While it doesn’t hurt to buy some new college-appropriate clothes before your first semester begins, don’t stress over it too much.
Packing to leave home and to my first semester of college, I admit that I did pack quite a bit of clothes that I might have worn on a regular day of grade school. I think the first day of college classes is the only day that I actually I looked decent. After that, I realized that no one really cares how you dress, especially not the professors. Now I’m not saying to pack only leggings, sweatpants, and t-shirts because weekends still exist in college, but I would suggest not overly packing on the going-out clothes. Oh and don’t forget about your church clothes!
After my first semester in college, I made sure to leave a lot of my clothes that I would usually wear on a daily basis to high school at home, especially since dorm rooms aren’t very generous in closet space. But I’m not complaining! It’s nice to go to class in your most comfy clothes without getting judged.
