So I’m not ordinary when it comes to what most people have in their description of being a girl. I am a girl who likes baseball and I play softball through the city and have been playing since I was 4 years old. It is a part of who I am.
It’s only natural for me that while I am on Yahoo! and see on the main page the different news story change from slide to slide that the sports catch my attention. It has been a few weeks since this article came out about how the Texas Rangers used one of their slots of the draft to recognize a very well deserved person.
It was the 33rd round of the draft and they drafted a junior outfielder Johnathan Taylor. What so interesting about this player? Well he was a player who became paralyzed during one of his last games as a college player right before the draft. He was a potential player that was being looked at by many different teams. Reading on the Rangers stated that this selection was, “a way to show support, yes. But it was also a way of saying they knew of the talent that he possessed before the accident….[and he] had a future on the diamond.”
I feel that this article has been an inspiration to many fans and well as different teams to not let those who have been injured be shied away of whom they were before their accidents.
