I've never been on a road trip in my life. It's always seemed a little scary to me, considering I can barely keep calm and still in a car ride of just two or three hours.
But, this year, when approaching the holidays, I was invited to go on a small road trip, just 12 or so hours, to a different state to go skiing, yet another thing I've never done in my life.
And while I've never tried either of things and am, admittedly, a bit afraid of both, I'm excited more than anything else. I'm excited for the peace and quiet of the snow with one of my closest friends, for the break from the stress of school, for 12 hours of blasting music in the car and singing, and for the weather I've always dreamt of getting to see with my own two eyes.
So, as I readily await those 8 short hours before I leave for 12 hours on the road, I can't help but feel so grateful for the opportunities I've been given to do things like this. To try these new things that I'm scared, but also so incredibly excited for. And if that snow doesn't seem as magical as I've always expected it to be, I always have home to come back to after being on the road again in a few short days.
