The Social Network is a movie based on the creation of the most popular social networking web site, Facebook. Because of the increasing popularity with Facebook, many people of all ages are curious to learn how such social networking site was created. I must admit myself that I was curious to learn more about how the idea had been thought out. Before having watched the movie, the only thing that I knew was that the creator, Mark Zuckerberg, had stolen the idea from some friends. The movie reinforced this conception that I had and I believe that it does a good job of telling the story of Mark and Facebook.

The movie starts by presenting Mark's computer programming ability. It shows how he started by creating a web site that rated the level of attractiveness of female students at Harvard. However, this program causes the computer network system at Harvard to crash causing Mark to be placed on academic probation. This incident caused interest in the Winkelvoss twins to ask Mark to help them create a Harvard connection web site called "The Facebook." Mark accepts and asks his best friend Eduardo to help him. The movie goes on to show the many incidents that occur during the initial phases of creation. I don't want to give too much of the movie because I would rather recommend anyone who reads this blog to watch the movie instead.

All I can say is that through this movie, I actually felt bad for Mark. It seemed as though he was too much of a computer genius that he didn't think that what he was doing was wrong. Whatever the case, Facebook is a social phenomena that can't be stopped. It is widely used throughout the world!
